The idea behind the scheme is to help renters eventually get onto the housing ladder by offering good quality rental properties which can be rented at 80% of the full market value.  By saving on the rent, you will hopefully be able to eventually afford to buy your own home - either the property you rent via the scheme or a different one.

For example, a 3 bedroom house valued on the open rental market at £650 can be rented for just £520 - that’s a discount of £130 per month!
