The Tenancy Contract

Back to Tenant Info

The minimum term for a tenancy contract is six months.

The initial tenancy contract will be for six months (unless otherwise stated).

PLEASE BE AWARE: Even though the contract is for six months, you STILL have to provide a one month notice period to us if you wish to leave the property at the end of the first six months.

Please do not assume that, because the contract is only initially for a six month period that the property is only available for a short-term let. This is standard procedure for most letting agencies.

The Tenancy Contract

Toward the end of the initial six month period you will be asked if you would like to renew. There is a charge of £25 (including VAT) but most Tenants choose to renew so they can relax knowing their home is theirs for another six months.

WARNING: Before signing a tenancy contract ensure you have read it and fully understand it.  Also look closely for additional charges made during the tenancy.  Another very important factor is your notice period.  Some agents insist that you have to serve 2 months notice which makes it very difficult to rent your next property as most agents allow just one month notice.
